Join Musique 3 Femmes and Le Vivier at Montreal’s Cinéma Moderne for its first-ever Digital Opera Now Festival. In a single evening presentation, these five opera films bring to the screen eloquent, moving and colourful stories by female, Canadian creators.

World premiere: This concert features three contemporary creations by women composers. The first draws inspiration from the poetry of Emné Nasereddine (Prix Émile-Nelligan), the second is a dark comedy on the theme of the housing crisis, while the third evokes traditional Abenaki tales.
* A co-production with Salle Bourgie, Le Vivier and Sixtrum with support from the University of Guelph College of Arts experiential learning programs

This screening by FIFA features the opera Vanishing Point (2021), commissioned by Musique 3 Femmes, and filmed in Montreal in 2022. This event marks the world premiere of the film, staged and directed by the opera’s librettist, Nika Khanjani.
