Artistic Associate - Soprano (She/Her)

Bio

“C’est vraiment jolie, une belle voix” (CBC Radio Canada, La matinale). Soprano Nicole Ross (she/her) is a recent graduate of McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, and a versatile performer in many styles. Nicole’s Opera credits include Musetta (La Bohème), Flora (The Turn of the Screw), Grace Davis (Street Scene), and Suzanne in Schubert’s (La Croisade des Dames). Nicole has a keen interest in contemporary music, and recently performed chamber operas The Blind Woman by James Rolfe and Miss Quickly by Iman Habibi in Tapestry Opera’s Songbook XI concert. She has appeared in concert as a soloist with McGill’s Contemporary Music Ensemble, Festival l’art de la Musique with the festival’s orchestra and with the Despax Quartet. 
 

In addition to her performance activities, she recently completed an Artist Fellowship with the Association for Opera in Canada, the Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance, and is a three time recipient of support from the Canada Council for the Arts. Nicole is passionate about producing new opera, concert curation, programming and the development of new works. In 2023, she looks forward to producing a world premiere of new work based on the poems of Sappho. 
 

When Nicole isn’t singing she can be found with her nose in a book, trying to cook new recipes or going for long walks in Montreal.
